Sentenced a woman who stole $1.7 million from her Minnesota employer and lost most of it in casinos.

More than three years in prison for a woman who stole $1.7 million from her southern Minnesota employer over the years and gambled most of it away.

Diane M. Eyler, 48, of Bird Island, Minnesota, was sentenced last week in federal court in Minneapolis to 3 1/2 years in prison and ordered to make full restitution to her employer, AgQuest Financial Services of Morgan, which was her employer for more than 15 years before the theft was discovered Aylor was ordered to make full restitution to her employer, AgQuest Financial Services of Morgan, which had been her employer for over 15 years until the theft was discovered.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson said, "Eyler systematically abused her employer's trust and stole more than $1.7 million."

Eyler, who pleaded guilty to wire fraud, was the accounting manager for AgQuest, which provides loans and insurance to farmers and other agricultural producers. Curious to know more about the case? Why not try these out!

From 2007 to 2015, she stole company checks and made them out to herself. She made false entries in AgQuest's ledger and disguised the checks as payments to AgQuest customers.

Eiler made over 250 checks out to herself and gambled away over $1.2 million in Jackpot Junction, near Morton.

In arguing for a suspended sentence rather than incarceration, Eiler's lawyer said in a court filing that his client was the "most reliable and generous caregiver" to his two grandchildren and that he used the money not for his "lavish" lifestyle but to pay for gambling and his son's drug addiction.

'Eilers was a gambling addict and it took over her life. She could not stop."

The defense added that Eiler is currently "attending and actively participating in Gamblers Anonymous."

Prosecutors sought a sentence of 41 to 51 months in prison, noting that her decision to embezzle "was not a one-time lapse in judgment, but a systematic effort to steal from her employer."

Eyler had stolen an average of $17,000 per month for eight years. Had she not been caught last November, she would still be stealing at that rate."

Mystic Lake Casino to open a modest-sized amphitheater this summer.

The stage will be temporary; seating will be rented for a test run to determine about building a permanent facility.

After years of planning, politics, and environmental studies, South Metro is finally getting a concert amphitheater. However, it won't be the huge one in Burnsville or Jordan. It's the modest 8,357-seat Mystic Amphitheater at the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake. The first event is a free July 4 concert by allbestcasinos.ca.

Don't get overly excited. There is a roof over the stage, but not over the audience.

According to a Mystic Lake spokesperson, if the six concerts are successful in drawing crowds, Mystic intends to build a permanent facility.

Mystic hosted the Oak Ridge Boys concert last July 4, which drew 10,000 people to the casino's parking lot.

As with the casino, alcohol will not be served in the amphitheater. Smoking is also prohibited except in designated areas.

The only show booked so far is the Beach Boys on July 31. Tickets will go on sale May 27.

According to prosecutors, Eiler spent more than 800 hours in Jackpot Junction in 2009. This equates to more than two hours a day, every day of the year.
